Tohu Whenua Launch

It was a beautiful day to launch the very special Tohu Whenua Pou. Hokitika is privileged to be part of the Tohu Whenua programme, which recognises places of historical significance to tell the story of New Zealand. The programme is run by Heritage New Zealand and supported by DoC and other organisations.

Thanks to Paul Madgwick and members of the Heritage Hokitika who spoke at the launch and gave the crowd insight into the interesting and varied history of Hokitika Port and Commercial Area, which was so important in the building of New Zealand as a nation.
