Haast’s New Reservoir

A new 400 cubic meter water reservoir has been constructed tol replace the existing 227 cubic meter concrete reservoir located on Zillian Hill in Haast.

The reservoir will provide greater capacity of treated water for the township and replace the current reservoir which has reached the end of its useful life. Timbertank Enterprises Ltd was contracted by Westland District Council to construct the new reservoir which is due for completion at the end of August 2020. The new tank is built of timber and lined with plastic, which will make it more resilient to natural hazards and is more cost effective.
