Further progress on the Carnegie Building

Work on the perimeter foundations of the Building is now complete. With work ceasing during the recent Covid 19 lockdown the project is now approximately 40 days behind the anticipated construction completion date and hand over early in March 2022.

Upcoming works include Structural steel fabrication and erect internal bird cage scaffolding. Work on the shear walls shotcrete works commenced earlier this month and will be completed by the end of October. The shear walls have been built with reinforced steel bars, installed into the existing brick walls.

Museum staff took a tour around the building last month to review the progress. You can see footage of their visit below.
