Old4New Coastguard Lifejacket Upgrade

Old4New returns to the West Coast this month. For Westland residents the van will be in Hokitika on Friday 17 January from 9am to 12pm behind the Council offices on Railway Terrace.

If you have an older lifejacket this is your opportunity to upgrade it for a new Hutchwilco jacket at a discounted price. Trade-in prices start at $59 for a child’s jacket, with up to $40 discount on the retail price of all styles.

Part of the core pillar of Coastguard’s mission of ‘Saving lives at Sea’ over 11,500 lifejackets have been traded in since the scheme began. The Coastguard recommends that lifejackets over 10 years old should be replaced as seawater, sun and general wear and tear impact their effectiveness. See www.old4new.nz, @coastguardOld4New on Facebook or contact Coastguard 0800 BOATIE (0800 262 843) for further information.

The Van will be in other West Coast locations on these dates:

Friday 17 January 2.00pm – 5.00pm Greymouth Steer Ave, Blaketown, Greymouth
Saturday 18 January 9.00am – 12.00pm Lake Brunner Lake Brunner Moana Boat Ramp, off Ana Street
3pm – 6pm Westport Westport Boat Ramp, off the north end of Queen Street
